The 47th day Christmas Celebration

Don't take Christmas away.  I am not ready for it to go.  Luckly I still have some gifts left to open under my tree.  I opened the gift from work yesterday.  It was a nice leather bound book.  I still notice that there are many lights still up and the "sounds of the season" music station on my cable still plays Christmas music.  I still listen to that in the morning as I wake up.

That word STILL is a powerful one.  We should be STILL at time and "know" that God is there.  We should let Him STILL the storms of our lives.  AND We should STILL keep the things of Christmas close to our hearts like Marry did.

To bad saying Merry Christmas right now brings you weird looks!  I would still do it.

The 46th Day Christmas Celebration

Music and the Spoken Word was a great way to start the new year.  They sang of new beginnings.  I have been fasting for some special help and during the time I was waiting for the Choir to start singing I started reading a conference talk.  It was from Bishop Edgley.  He talked about choosing FAITH.  It was a perfect talk for me to read and really tied in with all I had been pondering during my fast.  I think we all need to have our faith fortified.  Thats what this talk did for me.  I love how the Lord speaks to us through His chosen servants.

Then fast and testimony meeting was wonderful. There is such power in hearing others testimonies and in vocalizing them ourselves.  I know that is one reason I love my job.  I get a regular chance to share mine, but I think more importantly are the opportunities that come up in daily living that I know I need to take more advantage of.

Today was a day of rest for me.  I got to have a little nap and then have a nice little holiday treat after my fast was over.  I like easy going days like this when you actually have time to slow down, and ponder.

The 45th Day Christmas Celebration

An new year is  upon us.  The dance last night was a dud.  The only thing that made it fun was being with people that I love.  Janet and Janet are such good company and we all looked so cute.  But luck at finding nice men at these things was not in our favor.  I danced with this one nice looking man, but then when he foudn out I had never been married he went and found another shorter, more petite version to dance with the rest of the night.  I try not to take those things personally but the timing of it all is hard to ignore.

One good thing was that it was a snowly wonderland and so I drove home on snow packed roads and looked at lights and got some good things to eat, cause there were still lots of places open.  Then I headed to bed around 3 am.

It was a lazy day.  I baked a pumpkin pie and some carmel filled brownie bites.  Those didn't turn out at all and I ended up throwing them all away.  I lazed around watching some movies and just took it easy.  I have a cold so that was a good idea.  I also went and visited my Sister Lori and her family.  They put out a food spread that is AWESOME and so I went down and partook of that too.  We just watched some football and talked.  It was a nice time just to relax.  I am looking forward to Sun. tomorrow.  I have things I want to fast about and testimony meeting always lifts me. I hope it does you to.
